Estimating Accuracy
We will work with you to provide the most accurate estimate. For the best results, take your Atlas Representative through every room and storage area, the attic, basement, garage and tool shed. Point out things that may require special handling and packing, such as fragile porcelains, family heirlooms or valuable antiques. We will happily construct specially made crates for any antiques or goods you want to have taken special care of.
Interstate Moving
You have multiple pricing programs to choose from when relocating to another state. Established rates are published in an industry-wide tariff and are public information. Pricing is based on weight, distance and services. Some companies will use the amount of space you take up, rather than your weight, for calculating the final charges. You should ask ahead of time what method your moving company is using. Your Atlas Representative can help you understand your options and select the services that are correct for your unique relocation.
Liability Protection
As is standard in the industry, Atlas offers basic liability protection for your belongings. This is sometimes called 60 cents per lb. This coverage is limited to 60 cents per pound per article at no cost to you. Basic liability protection may not provide enough coverage in the unlikely event something is lost or damaged. You may decide upon full value protection, an affordable choice for peace of mind. Let us know whichever insurance option you would prefer during your move.
